CBS High Security Sperm Straw

Description / Use

Storage and preservation of sperm.

The special design and the mode of filling and sealing of CBS High Security Straws for cryopreservation of human biological samples makes them fully hermetic, especially in liquid nitrogen.

Manufactured from biocompatible materials, they are used in medically assisted procreation techniques and particularly for sperm preservation.
The CBS straw is a clear, flexible tube made of ionomeric resin.

CBS High Security Tissue Straw

Description / Use

Cryopreservation of tissue fragments.
Sterilized by irradiation.
Individually packaged in blister of 20 units.

Identification

The CBS™ High Security tissue straws can be identified by using LN2 resistant labels.

Filling and Sealing
Filling and sealing of the straw should be done in a controlled environment, such as a laminar flow hood.

  • Prepare the identification label and apply it on the outside of the CBS™ High Security tissue 2 mL straw
  • Holding the straw near the jaws, seal one extremity of the straw with the sealer SYMS equipped with the special guide for CBSTM High Security tissue 2 mL straws or SYMS III
  • Using a tong, carefully deposit the tissue fragment(s) into the straw, according to laboratory protocol (fragments or wrapped pieces)
  • Holding the straw near the jaws, seal the other extremity of the straw with the SYMS or SYMS III sealing systems.

Storage in liquid nitrogen

Set TDT®

Description / Use

The Set TDT® includes:

  • An outer sheath with a flexible extremity and 2 hysterometry guide-marks at 5.5 cm and 6.5 cm from the distal extremity.
  • A malleable metal stylet coated in polyethylene.
  • An extra-fine transfer catheter on a stainless steel micro tube of 0.50 mm in diameter in its proximal section for better handling.

In cervical stenosis, a thin malleable outer sheath and stylet can help overcome an obstacle before the loaded transfer catheter is gently and safely slid through the sheath.

Description / Use

    The devices include:

  • An outer sheath with 6 guide-marks every centimeter.
  • A transfer catheter ultrasoft in its distal section and rigidified in its proximal section by an internal sheath for better handling.

The echogenic model has a beveled ring at its tip in brushed stainless steel visible on ultrasound images. When placed in the outer sheath, the transfer catheter sticks out by 4.5 cm from the distal extremity of the outer sheath. The length of the catheter inside the uterus can be evaluated from the insertion guide-marks near the base. The ultrasoft transfer catheter preserves the integrity of the endometrial lining. The stylet available separately is used to shape the outer sheath prior to its insertion and clear a difficult cervix more easily. The echogenic model optimizes the transfer conditions as the cervical canal and transfer site can be visualized.

Pearl Tip

Description / Use

    Pearl Tip® devices include:

  • A curved outer sheath with an atraumatic spherical tip, a sliding stopper and 6 circular insertion guide-marks, visible irrespective of the direction of the outer sheath when in use. An arrow on the base indicates the direction of the distal curvature.
  • A flexible or firm transfer catheter (depending on the model) fitted with an inner metal stylet in the proximal segment to improve handling.

When placed in the outer sheath, the transfer catheter overhangs by 50 mm. Guide-marks close to the base are used to evaluate the length inserted in the uterine cavity.
